Questions about childcare, parenting, and more can be answered by Child Care Links, an area non-profit organization founded in 1976. Child Care Links (formerly known as Resources for Family Development) serves Alameda County as a coordinating agency for services that strengthen and support children and their families.

While individuals can take advantage of Child Care Links, several services are also offered which apply strictly to businesses. These programs can help any organization become a "family-friendly" employer.

For instance, Child Care Links offers consulting services in which they design customized child care systems to meet specific workforce needs, assisting businesses in determining needs, feasibility, service options, and budgets.

The organization also offers a variety of brown bag parenting classes which can be held on site at a specific business.

In addition, Child Care Links publishes Employers' Quarterly, a newsletter which addresses topics such as business participation in the community, new legislation regarding business and child care issues, and other concepts that affect working parents and families.

Businesses and individuals are both welcome to take advantage of Child Care Links' referral service. Parents can receive information on a full range of child care options to help them screen, interview, select, and monitor their child care provider.

The organization's latest addition is the Child Care Links web site at www.childcarelinks.org . The site offers access to all their services, plus up-to-the-minute news on pending legislation regarding child care issues.
