  • CPU Technology

    CPU Technology, a Hacienda-based manufacturer of high performance computing solutions for military and commercial markets, has been formally granted ISO 9001:2000 certification by the International Organization of Standardization (ISO) for its company-wide quality and management systems. ISO 9001:2000 certification requires that every aspect of an organization's design, development, production, installation, and servicing meet quality and performance standards set up by the ISO. "CPU Tech markets technology, products and services to a broad base of world class customers in support of mission critical programs. These programs demand the highest levels of performance in terms of process controls and product quality," said Edward King, the firm's CEO. "In addition to creating innovative, technologically advanced computing solutions, our management team is committed to the highest levels of customer satisfaction. We believe that ongoing investment in operational excellence, such as that represented by this recent acknowledgement, is a key to our continued growth."

  • Polycom

    Polycom has formed a partnership with Japan Telecom to provide small and medium sized businesses and home offices with high quality, affordable video conferencing solutions and services. The partnership will enable Japan Telecom's video conferencing service to be the first in Japan to offer Polycom's small and medium sized business video solution, the Polycom V500. Japan Telecom will establish solution packages using rental equipment that cover every aspect from networks through to maintenance, making the systems easier to use by improving overall cost performance. Companies adopting this service will enjoy more efficient network operations, such as IP-VPN, and an increase in business communication, according to the two companies. The adoption of the Polycom V500 as the system hardware will enable Japan Telecom to offer the service at an extremely competitive price.

  • Trapeze Networks

    Sandia National Laboratories, a major research and development laboratory for the U.S. Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration, has implemented Trapeze Network's wireless LAN Mobility System for wireless access throughout its Livermore campus. "The Trapeze architecture is inherently more secure than anything we tested," says Mark Mitchell, Principal Technologist at Sandia National Laboratories. "The value of the Trapeze Mobility System, and the myriad of features that are built into it, are absolutely without peer. I am truly impressed by all the amazing breakthrough wireless capabilities Trapeze has built into the Mobility System.     Ingenico's IngeCab solution has just won the Sesames Award for the most innovative transport application at the Cartes 2004 trade show. IngeCab integrates all "in-car" functions - payment, metering, dispatch and communications - into a single system. This enables taxi companies to cut costs (since technologies are no longer duplicated), to save time and to enhance data management security. Presented each year at the Cartes show in recognition for "outstanding innovation" in the smart-card industry, the Sesames Awards are awarded by a panel of international experts in smart-card technologies.
