The Red Cross has issued an emergency request for donations of all blood types. Community members are asked to help fight a blood shortage by scheduling an appointment to donate blood as soon as possible. Every two seconds a person needs an infusion, and a single blood donation can help save the lives of three people. Blood donation is easy and only takes about an hour. Consider making an even bigger impact by inviting a friend and share the ability to save a life.
Blood supplies in July are in very short supply and, this week, the American Red Cross has released an emergency call for blood donors. The Interfaith Blood Drive, which will be taking place this Saturday, July 14 from 8:30 am - 2:00 pm at the St. Elizabeth-Seton gym, located at 4005 Stoneridge Drive in Pleasanton, was originated to help address this shortage. Scheduling a blood donation is easy, and convenient. Simply go to www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/find-drive, and enter "Interfaithcommunity" to view available donation times. Additional information on blood donation process can be viewed here: www.redcrossblood.org/donate-blood/blood-donation-process/donation-process-overview.html, and eligibility requirements can be reviewed at: www.redcrossblood.org/donate-blood/how-to-donate/eligibility-requirements.html.
