This new campaign, a spinoff and extension of Small Business Saturday, emphasizes the importance of supporting our small businesses in downtown and why shopping local is vital, calling attention to the valuable and distinct contributions small businesses make to our community and local economy. Shop Small – Support Local celebrates small businesses ranging from retail stores and restaurants to fitness studios and salons, and everything in between. The Main Street closure program will allow visitors to patronize their favorite downtown businesses safely. Designated locations where businesses are allowed to expand their service area will be found on either side of Main Street at the corners of Division Street, Rose Street, Neal Street, Del Valle Parkway, Angela Street, Abbie Street, Old Bernal and Bernal Avenues. Outdoor dining arrangements and store displays will address the need for physical distancing and interior capacity limitations specified by ACPHD.
