NATIVE AMERICAN DAY

Join Local Natives, Las Positas College and Livermore Valley Arts for a special Native American Day community celebration. As a presenter of a diverse array of community programs, Livermore Valley Arts is committed to supporting the traditional and contemporary evolution of the American Indian community and uplifting contemporary indigenous voices and culture. Livermore Valley Arts acknowledges that we are on the unceded ancestral homeland of the Ohlone and affirms the sovereign rights of their community as First Peoples.

Event Details 

The Native American Day community event will take place at the Bankhead Plaza, 2400 First Street, Livermore from 5:30 - 7:30 pm on Friday, September 23, 2022. Participants are invited to enjoy a celebration of story, song, and dance appreciating the long history of culture and traditions that Native Americans have preserved through the centuries. The event will feature feature an altar, land acknowledgement, traditional dance, storytime, book giveaway, flute performance, and community drum circle.

Participation

This event is free and open to the public. All event activities will be held in the plaza immediately adjacent to the theater.
