SPARC Theater, formerly known as Livermore Shakespeare Festival, brings back their popular outdoor summer theater festival in a new winery, Darcie Kent Vineyards. SPARC Theater was inspired by William Shakespeare, who through the rhetoric and poetry of the English language gave voice to the deepest experience of being human. SPARC is committed to creating community through the production of high-quality professional theater experiences.

Great Performances in a Great Setting

Join SPARC Theater over the summer from June 22nd to August 6th and delight in two separate wonderful outdoor production performances in a great setting at Darcie Kent Vineyards, 7000 Tesla Road, Livermore. Participants will be able to enjoy the following productions in 2023:

• Silent Sky - This year SPARC is opening with Silent Sky by Lauren Gunderson, who is one of the most produced playwrights in the country. The true story of 19th-century astronomer Henrietta Leavitt explores a woman’s place in society during a time of immense scientific and heart-bound discoveries. With music and math bursting forth onstage, Henrietta and her female peers change the way we understand both the heavens and Earth. Preview and Family Night for Silent Sky will be held on June 22nd.  The show will run on weekends, Friday - Suday until July 9th.
• Much Ado About Nothing - Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing will complete the 2023 summer season. One of Shakespeare’s most performed comedies, Much Ado About Nothing explores love and friendship, honor and deceit, and a couple of cases of crossed wires as newly-engaged Hero and Claudio play cupid to the constantly bickering Beatrice and Benedick. Join Sparc Fridays - Sundays starting July 15th through August 6th.
