Meet the ghosts of Pleasanton's past in this uniquely spooky annual event held by Museum on Main. Museum on Main is dedicated to linking the past to the future by preserving, clarifying and disseminating information about history specific to the Tri-Valley region and by encouraging participation in the arts and humanities through public programs. Their mission is carried out by permanent exhibitions, tours, newsletters, special events, acquisition, and annual fundraising efforts. Museum on Main is a proud member of the American Alliance of Museums, the American Association for State and Local History, the Museum Store Association, the Western Museums Association, and the California Association of Museums.
This year the museum is offering their usual four nights of in-person tours, as well as a virtual experience. Ghost Walk is a two hour guided walking tour of Pleasanton’s most haunted sites along Main Street in the downtown area; and you never know what spirits you might encounter along the way! Join Museum on Main this Halloween season for this family-friendly tour that has been held for over fifteen years. After a short introduction about the history of paranormal activity in the area, your Ghost Host will guide you on this haunted tour of the things that go bump in the night!
In-person tours will be held on October 11, October 12, October 18, and October 19. Tours begin at the museum and leave every thirty minutes from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Groups are led by a team of Ghost Hosts to visit ten haunted locations around downtown. At each location groups are met by actors playing the roles of the various ghosts around town, bringing their stories and Pleasanton history to life. More details on this event are available at www.museumonmain.org/ghost-walk.html.
Tickets for the in-person Ghost Walk tours are $20 for adults and $15 for children. Tour tickets are available at: www.museumonmain.org/store/c40/Ghost_Walk_2024.html.
