The Cheza Nami Foundation invites you to their annual Taste of Africa festival. Cheza Nami's mission is to promote cultural education and diversity awareness to learning institutions, corporations and communities that focus on fostering a more congenial relationship among its members. Cheza Nami envisions a culturally diverse world where individuals of all ages and nationalities can embrace the concept of global citizenship and understand the fundamental interconnectedness of all things.
Taste of Africa will be held at the Bankhead Theater Shea Homes Plaza Lawn, 2400 First Street, Livermore, on Saturday, October 5, 2024. from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. Taste of Africa is a free family-friendly event that promotes and celebrates African and African diaspora cultures. Taste the flavors, hear the rhythms, and experience the magic of Africa!
This event is made possible in part by a grant from the City of Livermore, the California Arts Council and is brought to you in partnership with Livermore Valley Arts. Attendees can explore the rich tapestry of African heritage and the Diaspora. With a vibrant lineup of musicians and dance performances by local African and African Diaspora artists, awe-inspiring art exhibits, tantalizing cultural cuisine, an African marketplace, a community art project and a Kidzone featuring a reading corner, arts and crafts, and interactive instrument exploration, this event promises an unforgettable experience for all ages.
