Operation: S.A.M. "Supporting All Military" is inviting the community to participate in their Annual Holiday Drive to support our troops. Donations are being accepted on Saturday, October 20th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Pleasanton Wal*Mart located in Hacienda within the Metro 580 shopping center at 4501 Rosewood Drive. Operation: S.A.M. will also be at the Livermore Wal*Mart, located at 2700 Las Positas Road, on Saturday, October 13th.

Holiday Drive Donations

Operation: S.A.M. will be holding a donation drive for our military men and women who will be unable to be with their families this holiday season. The focus of this drive is to fill holiday boxes with treats such as unbreakable ornaments and decorations, manicure sets, make-up kits, DVD's, CD's, games, word puzzle books, sports equipment with pumps and batteries. Other items needed with winter approaching are warm tube or white socks, gloves, hand/foot warmers, thermal undergarments, thermal cups/mugs, ski masks/caps, slipper socks, Chapstick, medicated cream, small foot powder and travel size toothpaste and mouthwash. Water flavorings and snack items are always welcome. Please remember to purchase individually wrapped, smaller sized items. The item most appreciated in these packages is a note from home. There will be holiday cards and note paper at the donation sites for people to write their notes of encouragement and appreciation.

About Operation: S.A.M.

Operation: S.A.M. is an all-volunteer, non-political, non-profit organization that is dedicated to showing our communities' appreciation by sending the active members of our military comfort packages to let them know we are thinking about them and they are not forgotten. Care packages are sent to military personnel deployed all over the world, especially those deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
