Operation: S.A.M. "Supporting All Military" is inviting the community to participate in their "Remembering our Heroes Winter-Holiday Drive" to support our troops. Donations are being accepted on Saturday, November 7th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Pleasanton Wal*Mart located in Hacienda within the Metro 580 shopping center at 4501 Rosewood Drive. Operation: S.A.M. will also be accepting donations at the Livermore Wal*Mart on Saturday, October 24th.

Holiday Drive Donations

Operation: S.A.M. will be holding a donation drive for our military men and women unable to be with their families this holiday season. The focus of this drive is to fill holiday boxes. Some of the items put in these holiday packages are miniature stockings and thermal cups and mugs filled with treats; unbreakable ornaments and decorations; new or gently-used DVD's, CD's, battery- operated games, card games, word puzzle books, brain teasers, small sports items, computer games for Playstations and Game boy products (new or gently used); and batteries: AA and AAA. With winter approaching, other special requests include lounge pants, warm socks (white tube), gloves, hand and foot warmers, thermal undergarments, ski masks and caps, slipper socks, manicure sets, and winter hygiene. Water flavorings and snack items are always welcome. Please remember to purchase individually wrapped, smaller sized items. The most requested item in these packages is a note from home. Holiday cards and note paper will be available at the donation sites for people to write their notes of encouragement and appreciation.

About Operation: S.A.M.

Operation: S.A.M. is an all-volunteer, non-political, non-profit organization that is dedicated to showing our communities' appreciation by sending care packages to the active members of our military. Care packages are sent to military personnel deployed all over the world, especially those in Iraq and Afghanistan.
