Sheraton Hotel Offers Comfortable Rooms on Spacious Site
One of Hacienda's first projects is becoming one of the park's newest projects as the Sheraton/Four Points Hotel nears the end of a renovation which has brought upgrades to its rooms, public areas, and even the restaurant, Faz.
"The property was purchased three years ago, and when (the new owners) came in they started a multi-million dollar renovation to the property," explains Lola Laign, director of marketing.
With the renovation coming to its completion the only task left is re-tiling of the bathrooms Four Points almost takes on the look of a completely new hotel. The biggest change, according to general manager Jeff Durkin, is in the facility's public areas.
"In our case, the hotel is spread out over 11.25 acres," he says. "It has kind of a country feel, kind of an idyllic setting."
"We're unique in that we are on 11 acres and while we're certainly a corporate hotel, we offer more of a resort feel," adds Laign. "I think that's how we're going to set ourselves apart in the market."
The courtyard, which includes landscaped ponds and fountains in addition to the pool, even attracts special events such as weddings, receptions, mixers, and more.
It's not just the rooms and grounds that are new, however. So is Durkin, who took over the reins as general manager on August 1, bringing his unique vision to the hotel's direction.
The most important thing, he indicates, is the attention to detail that one would expect from a full-service hotel.
"It's everything from going into a room and discovering the light works to having it handled properly if it doesn't," he says. "We need to do our jobs every day and make sure that everyone walks out of here happy. It's getting clean linen every day, it's all the basics of a full-service hotel."
The Four Points also offers niceties such as king size beds in every room and the Starwood Preferred Guest program, which gives free nights at Sheraton and Four Points hotels worldwide, free flights, discounts on vacation packages, and even merchandise awards to enrolled guests.
