Under state and local law, businesses, nonprofits, and institutions in Alameda County must subscribe to a compost/organics and recycling collection service, sort right and comply with several other waste management requirements. Pleasanton Garbage Service (PGS) will be conducting randomized inspections of garbage, recycling, and compost containers at commercial facilities to gauge compliance with these requirements.
Waste and recycling bins will be inspected from March 3 to June 30, 2025. Inspections may begin as early as 5:30 am. During this period, PGS staff will identify contamination within bins and provide educational materials to help residents and businesses improve their waste sorting practices.
