Last year was a busy and successful one for Hyland Software, which offers the most comprehensive content services portfolio available. Hyland supports new and evolving ways of working, enabling healthcare providers, government agencies, financial institutions, insurers, educational institutions, and other organizations worldwide to transform their operations and deliver better experiences to the people they serve. In 2020, the company launched several new services, was recognized as a leader in content services platforms, and acquired Alfresco, a content services platform and solutions provider.
In December, Hyland launched the Alfresco Collaboration Connector for Microsoft 365. The Alfresco Collaboration Connector for Microsoft 365 helps organizations increase user productivity with seamless, real-time collaboration both inside and outside the enterprise, ensure compliance with information lifecycle and government policies, and improve user adoption by integrating tools necessary to user-specific jobs.
The new connector helps organizations avoid content silos by managing all Microsoft Office documents within the Alfresco platform, ensuring a single source of the truth and securely managing documents from creation to final destruction or archival. With a native integration between the Alfresco and Microsoft platforms, organizations receive the best of breed capabilities from both products, surfacing the right information at the right time to enhance user adoption and provide exceptional customer experiences. The new connector is available on both the Alfresco Digital Business Platform and Alfresco Content Services.
“The native integration between the Alfresco and Microsoft platforms allows organizations to store and access content easily and cost effectively throughout the lifecycle, while maintaining the highest-levels of security to meet regulatory and compliance requirements,” according to Mo Ladha, VP of Product Management at Hyland. “Leveraging our cloud-native content services platform, users gain productivity improvements by collaborating on content seamlessly and simultaneously from the applications they are familiar with."
The Alfresco Digital Business Platform is an open source, modern, scalable, and cloud-native content services platform that manages, protects, and connects information to support and accelerate digital transformation strategies. Future Alfresco versions will enable customers to seamlessly leverage other areas of the Hyland portfolio. These include Hyland Experience Platform (HxP)–the recently launched, next-generation, cloud-based platform–and newly developed HxP components, such as Hyland Experience Capture.
Hyland and its new acquisition, Alfresco, were both named Leaders in the Gartner 2020 Magic Quadrant for Content Services Platforms. This is the 11th consecutive year Gartner has recognized Hyland as a Leader within the evolved content services report, and the inaugural Leader positioning for Alfresco. Hyland completed its acquisition of Alfresco in October 2020. The successful transaction brought the entire Alfresco business, including all technology and products, under Hyland.
“We believe this latest Gartner report reflects what our customers already know: Hyland and Alfresco are the clear global leaders in the content services space, developing modern solutions in the cloud with the breadth and depth to help organizations meet ever accelerating digital transformation needs,” according to Bill Priemer, President and CEO. “Our product innovation and customer focus ensure our customers have the most advanced solutions for managing content and processes now and into the future.”
The acquisition furthers Hyland’s vision to become the world’s leading content services provider, expanding its global footprint with additional customers, partners, and employees with extensive industry experience. The addition of Alfresco’s solutions augments Hyland’s range of content services offerings and provides new opportunities to engage with the open-source community for product innovation. Hyland’s low-code content services platform helps organizations manage the entire information lifecycle. More than 16,000 global organizations leverage Hyland’s content services platform to meet their digital transformation, compliance, and customer experience imperatives.
