PROSHRED Helps Clients Safeguard Confidential Information

PROSHRED Security is the world leader in on-site shredding services. The company is dedicated to document, hard disk drive, media, and product-shredding services provided to clients on-site at their businesses and homes. PROSHRED has pioneered one of the most secure and effective systems for destroying confidential documents on a variety of media. The company’s services help businesses and local residents securely safeguard private information, maintain legislative compliance, and protect their public image.

“Our certified and secure processes ensure state of the art client protection,” says CEO Michael Thompson. “We are locally owned and operated, and our customer service is best in class.”

Recently, for example, a client approached PROSHRED with a unique product destruction requirement that has been typically outside of the scope of the company’s service offering. Even so, the company worked closely with the new customer to solve the problem with the dedicated focus PROSHRED provides to each client, according to Thompson.

“Most of our Hacienda business neighbors may not realize the importance of information security,” Thompson notes. Legally, many businesses and institutions have an obligation to protect the private information under their control. Maintaining full legal compliance with privacy legislation is crucial in taking a proactive defense against the increasingly prevalent risks of identity theft and corporate espionage. While that responsibility may feel overwhelming, companies can ensure long-term legal compliance and superior privacy and security for employees and customers by using PROSHRED’s secure, convenient, cost-effective, and sustainable document destruction services, according to Thompson.

PROSHRED has ISO 9001 and AAA ratings from the National Administration of Information Destruction to show that the company demonstrates understanding of compliance and regulatory standards. Thompson's customers range from big corporations with standing contracts to individuals who need to shred just a couple of boxes of paper documents. PROSHRED can send a truck to a customer site for one-time shredding, put locked bins in an office for monthly disposal of paper documents, or work out another approach that fits client needs.

Cross-shredded paper and other recyclable materials are sent to trusted recycling partners that comply with federal and state regulations. PROSHRED also provides a certificate of destruction for clients such as law firms, medical facilities, financial organizations, educational institutions, and small/medium businesses who need that certificate to fully comply with privacy laws that affect a specific industry. Shredding events are popular with many business owners, including real estate agents, Thompson notes. Real estate agents sometimes book a PROSHRED truck for a few hours and invite their own clients to shred documents at no charge.

“No customer is too big or too small for PROSHRED,” says Thompson. “We service residential and commercial clients with the same level of outstanding customer service, attention, and respect. We also provide for services locally at our Pleasanton facility.”

Extensive research led Thompson to secure a 12-county Bay Area franchise from Toronto-based PROSHRED Security. The PROSHRED San Francisco Bay Area facility at Hacienda opened in October 2013 and has nine employees. “We loved the location and the building amenities,” notes the CEO.

The company supports multiple charitable and non-for-profit organizations, including the American Institute for Cancer Research. PROSHRED holds an annual Shred Event in support of the American Institute for Cancer Research, with 100% of the profits going to the nonprofit organization.
