Visit Tri-Valley Launches Updated Regional Guide

Visit Tri-Valley (VTV)  is the official destination marketing organization for the cities of Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, and the Town of Danville. To boost the regional economy, the nonprofit promotes the Tri-Valley as a single destination and uses creative marketing campaigns, community outreach, and sales initiatives to attract potential visitors. That work can be seen in two current campaigns, the 2023 Visit Tri-Valley Inspiration Guide and the third annual Taste Tri-Valley Restaurant Week.

The recently released Inspiration Guide "is the last word on everything eat, drink, play, and stay in the Tri-Valley," says Robin Fahr, the organization's Vice President of Marketing. "While it's a great resource for locals who already know how great the region is and may use the guide as a reminder of upcoming events, we really produce the guide for our hotels, whose goals include giving the business traveler some great reasons to stay for the weekend. When travelers see what a beautiful destination this is, complete with breathtaking outdoors, shoppable downtowns, an authentic food and local wine scene, and the friendliest locals around, it's easy for them to spend the night and spend some money."

This marks the 16th year that VTV has published the Tri-Valley Inspiration Guide, which first appeared in 2007. The guide's cover this year is a departure from the past, notes Fahr, who says the cover's colorful array of delicious-looking food and drinks is a nod to the region as a culinary destination. New features of the guide include a map that highlights points of interest in Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, and Danville as well as the location of all 40 of the Visit Tri-Valley partner hotels.

Staff at VTV have also been busy working on the third annual Taste Tri-Valley Restaurant Week, which kicks off with a celebratory Chef Collaboration Dinner at Wente Vineyards on Thursday, February 23. "The event benefits Open Heart Kitchen, the largest hot meal program of its kind in the Tri-Valley area," according to Fahr.

This year is the largest restaurant week yet. More than 60 restaurants, wineries, breweries, and businesses are participating in the 10-day celebration, which officially begins on Friday, February 24 and runs through Sunday, March 5. VTV encourages residents to sign up for the event's free mobile pass, which gives users access to dozens of exclusive offers at restaurants and wineries during the celebration. Diners use the pass to redeem the offers at participating businesses. Each time a pass is used, the diner automatically receives one entry in VTV's Restaurant Week Giveaway, which has prizes valued at over $700. They include a two-night stay at the Marriott Pleasanton at Hacienda, two full-day Pedego electric bike rentals, two tickets to the Blackhawk Museum, and gift cards to local restaurants that are worth more than $200.

In addition to discounts, Restaurant Week features a host of special events. They include a Livermore Wine Trolley Taste of the Tri-Valley Tour on February 28  and a wine vs. beer five-course dinner presented by Pleasanton's BottleTaps and McGrail Vineyards on March 1. Each course will be paired with both beer and wine to determine which beverage pairs best with each course. The week ends with another fundraiser for Open Heart Kitchen, an extraordinary five-course Sunday Supper event on March 5 at Locanda Amalfi.
