The company renovated its facility in March 2023 by installing one of the largest and most advanced volumetric video walls in the nation. Goal Line's video wall stands 106 feet across by 20 feet tall, according to President and CEO Joe Madden, who is the broadcaster's son. "We specialize in productions using in-camera video effects that merge real world live action with virtual reality effects utilizing the latest technology in motion capture, augmented reality, and extended reality. We serve the motion picture production industry as well as provide a unique live event venue for corporate gatherings and productions."

There are many benefits to Goal Line's state-of-the-art video wall, which is capable of displaying high definition 4K, 8K, and 12K images. For example, a local software company client recently needed a solution that could provide multiple virtual locations at a single venue. "With our huge volume, we were able to create multiple photorealistic locations–a mountain lodge, a ski lift, and a time travel portal–against the same backdrop in an indoor facility," notes Madden.

"This was especially helpful, primarily because the cost involved in shooting at any location is enormous. Our volumetric wall gets you to any location and even multiple locations without the additional expense of taking crew and talent there. Shooting on location, a director is subject to and must work within the parameters of time of day. On our volumetric wall, it can be dusk for as long as you need it to be. The cost savings to shoot this way is exponential."

Goal Line is the only company in Northern California that can provide such a wide array and broad spectrum, with the only 12-bit video system offering 4K resolution now in existence, according to Madden. Goal Line not only serves as a premier facility for video and film production but also as a unique venue for corporate communications. The volumetric video wall serves clients with publicity, marketing, advertising, and promotional needs, including  keynote addresses by executives from medium and large sized corporations.

Madden's company is working to collaborate with others in the industry. "We can do so much more together in this Northern California film community than we can separately. It makes sense to combine efforts and encourage support. In that vein, we plan to host meet-ups, demonstrations, development programs, and seminars to motivate, educate, and facilitate these growing needs. We seek to educate, foster, support, and inspire this type of work by combining resources with other outside facilities, production companies, technologies, and schools in order to grow a more healthy and robust production community in this area."
