Tekion Improves Cross-State Car Sales Process

Tekion innovated the first cloud-native platform serving the entire automotive retail ecosystem. In July, the company announced it had acquired interstate and state vehicle registration solution provider Five64. Now integrated with Tekion and called Tekion Digital Processing (TDP), the new acquisition will help dealers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and industry channel partners accurately calculate tax, title, license, and other fees for in-state and out-of-state car sales in all 50 US states and the District of Columbia, according to officials.

TDP will simplify cross-state transactions of vehicle purchases. With the continued evolution of online sales, there are more and more people looking to cross state lines to buy a vehicle. According to Cars.com, 10% of recent car buyers went over state lines for their vehicle as inventories trail demand.

"We are always looking for ways to enable automotive retailers to make their consumer car buying process smooth and seamless, be it online and/or in-store," according to Jay Vijayan, Tekion Founder and CEO. "Tekion Digital Processing will make an integral part of the car selling and buying process seamless, allowing consumers to shop and buy cars from where they wish, while retailers have the opportunity to sell vehicles from their store to wherever they want to and expand their customer base."

TDP is being seamlessly integrated into Tekion Automotive Retail Cloud (ARC) and Automotive Enterprise Cloud to alleviate the frustrations of cross-state transactions by helping everyone navigate the complexity of state regulations with ease, avoid delays with lenders, and prevent costly mistakes. As a software tool, TDP will allow the same workflow for all vehicle purchases and the creation of dynamically populated forms, cutting the time spent entering information and reducing errors.

Earlier in the year, the company announced a new partnership with OEM Hyundai Auto Canada. With this partnership, Hyundai and Genesis dealers across Canada can now select Tekion's ARC as their dealer management system (DMS) provider. ARC is the first and fastest cloud-native platform, officials say, and includes all the functionalities of a DMS and accompanying tech stack to run a seamless retail business. ARC modernizes the end-to-end automotive retail journey, improves consumer experiences, and brings the highest efficiencies to retailers by connecting consumers, dealers, and OEMs better than ever before through its cutting-edge platform.

Tekion's platform offers broad benefits to Hyundai and Genesis dealers, including increased efficiencies in fixed operations, streamlined staff training enabled by an intuitive user interface, improved communication across all departments, a complete paperless service process enabled within the first week of implementation, and elevated customer experience through digital capabilities and time savings.

"We need to provide our customers and employees with an experience that integrates with their lives and allows them to do more," according to Khalid Kadrie, Vice President of Phaeton Automotive Group, which consists of five dealerships and a state-of-the-art collision center in London, Ontario, and the greater Toronto area of Canada. "Switching to Tekion enabled our employees to work more efficiently, while providing our customers the modern experience they deserve."

Tekion connects the entire spectrum of the automotive retail ecosystem through one seamless cloud-native automotive platform. It includes the revolutionary Automotive Retail Cloud for retailers, Automotive Enterprise Cloud for manufacturers and other large automotive enterprises, and Automotive Partner Cloud for technology and industry partners. The company moved its US headquarters to Hacienda in June 2021. Tekion has more than 2,500 employees globally.
