Sponsors and corporate teams are sought for this year's Journey of Hope Goodwill Challenge, a one-day event benefitting the Tri-Valley Community Fund. The Challenge offers friendly competition in a variety of individual and team events.
The event will take place on June 12, but both participants and sponsors need to sign up by January 15 in order to guarantee their company name will be listed in event promotional materials.
The Challenge consists of events for individuals ranging from cycling and in-line skating to darts, horseshoes, archery, hole-in-one, and more. There's even a sports trivia contest.
Companies may also enter the Corporate Race, which recognizes businesses with the highest percentage of employee participants. Family members are welcome as well. The last day for companies to register their teams for the Corporate Race is January 30.
The Tri-Valley Community Fund raises and distributes local charitable contributions to area human service, cultural, social and educational organizations. The fund was established in 1982 as an area-wide community chest to identify, direct and distribute charitable contributions in an informed and equitable manner for the betterment of the communities it serves.
Pleasanton groups which the fund supports include: Valley Support Services, The Center, H.O.U.S.E., the ValleyCare Foundation, Livermore-Amador Valley Historical Society, Children's Theatre Wing, Pleasanton Playhouse, Jobs for Tomorrow, the Volunteer Center, and many more.
