Remedy Corporation has released a new revision to its foundation product, Action Request System 4.0. This major release offers Remedy's two million users immediate access to an elegant new 32-bit user interface (UI), robust enterprise reporting capabilities and instant readiness for the Web. The new UI makes Remedy-powered applications easier to learn with less training and simpler to use, allowing users of all skill levels to complete their tasks much faster.
SkillSet Software
SkillSet Software will provide its automated recruiting software to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. and Caterpillar. MGM is deploying SkillSet's Desktop Recruiter software within its corporate HR department, and Caterpillar is rolling out Desktop Recruiter and SkillSet's web-based Manager's ViewPoint software to key HR staff and hiring managers within a 2,000 employee division.
Transdyn Controls
Transdyn Controls has been awarded a five-year contract by the Virginia Department of Transportation to design, build, and support a new computer system for the Hampton Roads Smart Traffic Center, a facility which will manage traffic on over 100 miles of roadway in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Hampton Roads, Virginia. Transdyn's computer system will integrate and automate various traffic management functions, including vehicle monitoring, incident detection and management, motorist advisory, traffic surveillance, and ramp metering.
PPIE
The Pleasanton Partnerships in Education Foundation (PPIE) has selected Leslie Roe as its new executive director. Roe has more than 17 years of experience in corporate and high-tech marketing, most recently serving as CompUSA training center business manager for the greater East Bay. PPIE sponsors a variety of programs which encourage the business community's participation in area schools.
