In any organization, there are times when the amount of work that needs to be done exceeds the capabilities of the full-time staff. In those same instances, it frequently doesn't make sense to hire more people because the higher work load is short term. To avoid straining human resources by incorporating another staffer who may not be needed later, many companies turn to temporary agencies like Remedy Temp at 4847 Hopyard Road to help them get through the workload.
"Our company has approximately 500 full-time colleagues and we place approximately 40,000 associates nationwide on assignment during any given week," says Saskia Celie, Regional Operations Administrator, of Remedy Temp's Pleasanton office. Staffed by four full-time staffers, the Pleasanton office has provided staffing for many local companies at an average rate of 30 to 40 temporary employees per week. "We work with a temporary staff that ranges from warehouse personnel to drivers to administrative assistants, customer service representatives, and collections agents," Celie says.
Remedy first opened its doors in Riverside, California in 1965 and, over the course of it's nearly 40 years in business, the company has grown to over 260 offices throughout North America with recent billings of over $500 million, servicing more than 1,100 clients on a weekly basis, many of whom are Fortune 500 companies. Currently, Remedy offers industrial staffing, logistics staffing, business staffing, customer contact staffing, financial and technical staffing. The company also has a Search and Placement division that works to fulfill "direct hire" needs in industries that include banking, biotech, healthcare, insurance, legal, mortgage, telecommunications, human resources, marketing, operations, loan processing, and public relations. Locally, the Pleasanton office serves businesses in Pleasanton, San Ramon, Danville, Alamo, Dublin, and Livermore in the clerical, information processing, and industrial fields. Remedy has 15 other offices serving the Greater Bay Area.
"Our industry knowledge and specialized staffing divisions, along with our commitment to client satisfaction, really set us apart," Celie says. "We also have a large network of branch offices around the U.S. that enables us to service national companies as well as local companies." Remedy also uses a "temp to hire agreement" with the companies it services where employers can turn temporary employees into full-time staffers if they are pleased with the work that is done. "The advantage of a temporary service is that you can try the services of our associates before hiring on directly to ensure the right skill and cultural match. However, for companies that don't have the resources to hire a permanent employee, we provide the perfect way for them to take advantage of additional productivity by using an hourly Remedy employee."
