Verizon Wireless
For the third consecutive year, Verizon Wireless has been recognized as one of the top workplaces for information technology (IT) professionals by IDG's Computerworld. This year, Verizon Wireless is the highest ranked telecommunications provider, placing 29th, up from 52nd in 2004. The selection was made based upon the quality of the working environment and the results of a survey given to IT department employees.
Richmond American Homes
As part of their Hacienda location on Hopyard Road, Richmond American Homes has opened the Home Gallery, a showroom with interactive kiosks and information such as floorplans on all of the company's new home developments in the region. Also on display in the Home Gallery are three beautiful model kitchens and four different color studios, where finish materials have been matched and coordinated by the company's professional design consultants. "This is truly a whole new concept in the homebuilding industry and is driven by our commitment to providing our customers with the best home buying experience," says Mark Butler, president of the Bay Area Richmond American Division. "As soon as people walk through the doors, they are thrilled, and we couldn't be happier with the final result."
Hacienda's Hotels Have Been a Hub of Activity Recently:
The Four Points by Sheraton recently upgraded the bedding in all guest rooms. The Four Comfort Bed features a plush mattress, two large lounging pillows and two down sleeping pillows, classic cotton blend sheets, and a cushioned duvet. The beds were also featured by the hotel's staff on a float last month in the Alameda County Fair Parade.
The former Sierra Suites Hotel at 4555 Chabot has been purchased by Extended Stay Deluxe Hotels, a company with over 380 locations across the country. More information is available at www.extendedstayhotels.com.
The Courtyard by Marriott recently completed a major renovation. Each of the facility's 145 guest rooms and 14 suites has been revamped with new furniture, bedding, carpets, and more. The lobby, lounge, and restaurant areas were also redone and the 24 Hour Market, which features salads, sandwiches, drinks, ice cream, and vending machine items, was added next to the front desk.
Summerfield Suites by Wyndham has seen $1 million in improvements made in an extensive series of renovations. Each of the hotel's 128 suites has been upgraded with new carpets, mattresses, furniture, and bedding, while the hotel dining room has received new tables, chairs, carpets, and more.
