Over 600 from Throughout the Area Expected at the Convention and Visitors Bureau's 10th Annual Tri-Valley Regional Mixer

There's only one event that pulls together virtually every business organization in the region and it's coming on Tuesday, January 9. The 10th annual Tri-Valley Regional Mixer, sponsored by the Tri-Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) along with chambers of commerce from five different cities, three downtown associations, the Tri-Valley Business Council, the Livermore Winegrowers Association, and the Livermore Valley Olive Growers Association, brings together members of all these organizations for an evening of food, Livermore Valley wines, and unparalleled networking opportunities.

"It's the largest purely networking mixer in the region," says Amy Blaschka, president and CEO of the Tri-Valley CVB. "Because we've partnered up with all those other organizations, we expect to have over 600 people attending this, and that gives people the opportunity to have one-stop shopping in terms of networking to kick off the new year. They may be a member of one chamber or another or a downtown association, but this gives them access to people they may not have met before and interacted with. People start forming new connections at this event every year."

This year's event will mark the first time that the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce and Discover Danville will be participating, thanks to that town's recent agreement to be represented by the Tri-Valley CVB. "We're excited to have them aboard because it really rounds out the Tri-Valley," adds Blaschka. "It's good to have every incorporated municipality under our CVB umbrella."

The event has grown dramatically in recent years and has seen an increase in attendance of over 70 percent since 2001. The Tri-Valley Regional Mixer is open to the public but Tri-Valley CVB members do have a special place at the event.

"One thing that is purely a CVB member benefit is the ability to purchase booth space at this event," says Blaschka. "We usually have about 30 booths and they typically represent a cross section of our membership. They really see the value because of the number of people coming through and the opportunity to reach a group of folks that they otherwise may not."

The event will be held on Tuesday, January 9 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at the Alameda County Fairgrounds Satellite Wagering Facility in Pleasanton (enter at Gate 12 off Bernal Avenue). Tickets are $20 per person if purchased by Thursday, January 4. After that date, tickets will be $30 and available only at the door.
