  • Hacienda Credit Unions Recognized by East Bay Business Times

    Two of Hacienda's credit unions have been recognized as the largest in the East Bay by the East Bay Business Times. 1st United Services Credit Union, which tallied over $672 million in total assets as of March, 2006-2007, was ranked number five by the business weekly. SafeAmerica Credit Union, with assets of nearly $260 million this spring, was number nine on the list. Both credit unions have their headquarters in the park.

  • Pronto Networks

    Pronto Networks, a designer and manufacturer of products for large Wi-Fi hotspot and hotzone networks, has been chosen by AlwaysOn as one of the Top 100 Private Company award winners. Pronto Networks was selected by the AlwaysOn editorial panel based on a set of five criteria: technology innovation, market potential, customer adoption, media buzz and investor value creation. The AO100 was selected from over 1,000 companies, peer-nominated by leading venture capitalists, investment bankers and industry analysts. The AO100 consists of private companies at all stages of development, from early to late stage. "Being honored by AlwaysOn is always a tremendous accomplishment," said CEO Jasbir Singh. "With our plug and play solution, Pronto has been able to provide its users with fast, easy, and reliable service that is unmatched. We will continue to remain focused and enhance our solution to provide our customers with even more."

  • Shaklee Corporation

    At their 50th anniversary conference, to be held at Moscone Center on August 17, Shaklee Corporation CEO and chairman Roger Barnett will introduce two new product lines: the cinch inch weight loss management program and the non-toxic Get Clean selection of household cleaning products. The new "cinch inch" plan promises to break the dieting cycle by focusing on goal jeans, not goal weight. Get Clean is a line of biodegradable, Earth-friendly household cleaners. In addition to an address by Barnett, conference attendees will also hear presentations from 2004 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Wangari Maathai, former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, and Jeffrey Sachs, director of the Earth Institute of Columbia University. The conference is expected to be attended by over 8,000 Shaklee dealers.

  • Standard Pacific Corp.

    Hacienda home builder Standard Pacific Corp. has been named to Computerworld's Annual List of 100 Best Places to Work in Information Technology. "We are particularly proud that our efforts in developing a strong information technology organization to support our homebuilding business has been recognized by IT professionals," says Stephen J. Scarborough, Standard Pacific CEO and chairman. "We believe that our IT organization has been an important part of our successful growth strategy over the past several years, enabling the company to more efficiently leverage the resources of its broader operating organization while providing enhanced strategic information to its managers." Standard Pacific Corp. is ranked number 89 on the overall 2006-2007 Best Places to Work in IT, which was published in the June 19 issue of Computerworld and online at Computerworld.com.

  • CPU Tech

    In collaboration with IBM, Hacienda's CPU Tech is integrating multiple IBM PowerPC cores into its Acalis product family, resulting in what the company claims is a new class of semiconductor devices called Field Programmable Multi-core Chips (FPMCs). The company states that Acalis devices facilitate the migration of microprocessor based systems to multi-core computing, while uniquely preserving the investment in existing software. The collaboration also ensures onshore fabrication of the new devices using IBM's Trusted Foundry. "Size, power and throughput limitations associated with microprocessors are driving the adoption of multi-core computing," says Edward King, CPU Tech's CEO. "System-on-a-Chip technology can effectively solve these problems. However, transition to the multi-core era presents the additional challenge of software compatibility. Acalis, the world's first FPMC product line, can directly execute unmodified legacy application software and simultaneously execute IBM PowerPC multi-core software on a single chip device."
